A Professor of Biochemistry, Professor Frank Onyezili of the Biological Sciences Department in the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi (FUAM) took his own life.

Professor Frank Onyezili, according to reports, took his own life by drinking poison on Friday 19th October, 2018.
In the suicide note left by the professor, it can be gathered that his action is connected to a state of depression and loneliness.
Reports have it that Professor Frank Onyezili’s wife and children left him in the country and traveled abroad which in turn could have been the cause of his loneliness.
The sad news was confirmed by Chief Mrs. Rosemary Waku, the Director of Protocol and Information of the University. She said: “Professor Onyezili committed suicide on Friday last week at FUAM”
Chief Mrs. Rosemary Waku stated that the Professor left a suicide note behind but she cannot reveal the content of the note.
