Shocking: Man hacks wife to death over suspicion of infidelity

A 33-year-old man, Joshua Terkaa-Uhir, had allegedly hacked his wife, Lucy, to death with an axe after accusing the mother of two of engaging in extramarital affairs.

According to PUNCH’s report on the story, it was gathered that Joshua and Lucy had been married for about six years with two children. However, their matrimony lost its bliss and degenerated to frequent fights and quarrels.

It was later gathered that the matter became worse leading to the unexpected on Sunday when the husband shut the door against Lucy and beat her up after a fierce argument. In the course of shutting the door, he was alleged to have used an axe to hit her neck and immediately fled through the window so as not to be caught.

Just after the incidence, Lucy was quickly rushed to the Gboko General Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival at the hospital by doctor.

Testifying to the incident that happened, a neighbour to the couple, Aga-Samuel Barti, recounted that before the incident, Joshua had been accusing his wife of infidelity, adding that it was the reason for their argument which went on for about three hours.

The father of the murdered woman Daniel Akighir said he was unaware of any issue of spiritual attack or infidelity in the family.

He added, “I only remember that last Friday, my daughter and her husband came to my house to resolve some issues they had. My daughter complained that the husband was maltreating her. She said he always came back home late and he was not feeding the family.
