A Nigerian lady, Samira Sanusi who was born with Sickle Cell disease took to social media to appreciate her brother who gave her his own bone marrow 13 years ago leading to her cure.

Her father was determined to get a cure for her and with the help of modern medicine; she got cured of the sickle cell disease.

Her brother Mustapha, in the year 2004 at Vienna, Austria donated his own bone marrow which was transplanted into her.

Samira celebrated her brother as this year 28th October 2017, marks 13 years of her being healed of the sickle cell disease after the transplant.

She started the Samira Sanusi Sickle Cell Foundation to support other young people suffering from sickle cell disease since then; she has being supporting these people emotionally and financially.

Samira wrote on Twitter: “13 years ago today @mustysanusi gave me his Bone Marrow/Stem Cells which cured me of Sickle Cell Anaemia”
