Six cult members arrested in Delta

Six members of a cult group whose male members forcefully rape girls as part of their initiation rite have been arrested by the police detectives in Delta State.

Speaking about their arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Mr Zanna Ibrahim told newsmen that Police operatives of Ashaka Division acted on a tip-off which led to the arrest of the cult gang at a hotel in Ashaka area of the state where members of the cult group had met.

“On sighting the policemen, the suspects escaped by jumping the hotel’s fence, abandoning one Rocky motorcycle with registration number UWN 852 QR Enugu, six pairs of palm slippers, two Nokia phones, one Techno phone, one Gionee phone and one black spectacle.”

“However, one female suspect was later arrested, who made a confessional statement and disclosed that she was forcefully raped as an initiation rite into Vikings queen,” he said.

Although, having confessed enough to give information about other members hideout, the other five suspects, all from Ashaka town were arrested.

“They confessed to the offence of belonging to a secret cult known as Junior Vikings Confraternity. The case is under investigation.”
