A middle-aged man identified as Divine Ebie has been reported to have allegedly kidnap a boy and deposited him in exchange for three bags of Rice worth N48,000.

The suspect who is presently being trailed by detectives got hold of the boy while he was running errands for his mother around Prince bus stop in Isheri Osun area of Lagos.

It was gathered that he deceived the boy as he took him down to a shop At Ijegun area of Lagos where he gave him in exchange for the three bags of rice. The suspect also allegedly introduced himself as the brother of the boy to the shop owner.

The salesgirl at the shop said, “When the man came to the shop with the boy, he asked how much a bag of rice was? I told him it was N16,000. He left with the boy, saying he was going to tell the woman that sent them. Moments later, he came back and said that he needed three bags.

He said that his brother would remain with me while he went to get the money. After waiting close to one hour without seeing him, I told the boy to take me to his mum’s shop at Fire junction. But he said that his mother did not own a shop there and that the stranger only met him on the road and brought him to the shop. It was at that point that I knew I had been robbed.”
