Strange Fire Breaks Out at Lagos Dumpsite
A strange fire broke out at Olusosun dumpsite at the Tollgate, Ojota, Lagos, on the evening of March 14, 2018.

The fire which started around 4 pm was emitting thick black smoke which could be as far from the dumpsite as Ikeja.
According to reports, the strange fire caused panic among commuters and this resulted in heavy traffic on the express.
A twitter handle of the Ministry of Environments, Lagos State, explained the cause of the fire, it said: “It is necessary to clarify that the fire at Olusosun dumpsite wasn’t deliberately set by the Lagos state government or any individual. It broke out as a result of the pockets of unstable gases caused by indiscriminate dumping and further compounded by dry weather.”
