Suspected killers of Adeyemi College of Education student arrested
Three suspected ritualists who specialised in luring and kidnapping female students have been arrested by the Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Police on Thursday.
The suspected ritualists were reportedly specialised in luring and kidnapping female students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo and using them for rituals. The three suspects were paraded at the Ondo state headquarters of Nigeria police command along Igbatoro road Akure, the Ondo state capital.
According to the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Gbenga Adeyanju, who said the suspects were arrested at different locations, confessed to the killing of three students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.
The suspects are John Adenitire also known as Emir, Fisayo Fasanu a.k.a Abore and Alfa Abdurafiu Tijani, a herbalist.
CP Adeyanju explained that the report of a missing girl was made at Fagun Police Station in Ondo town on the 28th of July, while police swung into action.
The CP further explained that one of the suspects, Adenitire, was arrested in a robbery incident in Ondo, and later confessed to the kidnap and killing of the missing girl for a ritual.
The police boss said that further investigation led to the discovery of two other female students who had been killed for ritual disclosing that Adenitire’s confession led to the arrest of two other suspects who participated in the killing.
He said Adenitire and Fasanu confessed selling the bodies of the ladies to a Muslim cleric in Ore, Abdurafiu Tijani, who promised to pay N15 million for the parts of the ladies.
According to one of the suspects Adenitire, “they promised to give us N5 million for a left chest and left hand and we were able to send three different bodies to them but they have not sent the money before the police nabbed me.
“We have killed three girls and remove their chest and buried their remains in the bush. We gave the parts to the Alfa and Sile who are also part of us but have taken to their heels after our arrest
“I was not there when the victims were killed but I was the one keeping vigil at the entrance of the bush and the operation was successful. I did not participate in the killing.”
Another suspect, Fasanu also known as “Abore” said I was in my house when John Adenitire, “Emir” told me he has a business that can lead to cool money for us. He told me it’s about ritual and assured me there was no problem.
“We went out the second day around 9:30 pm and two girls and one boy were picked and we killed them before removing their parts while Sile took them to herbalists in Ore and Ijebu Igbo.”
Speaking further, the Police Commissioner, “after series of interrogation, the suspects confessed to mutilating the body of the victim for ritual purposes. They took us to where they buried one of the victims, and we found the body already decomposing.”
Two students of the College of Education in Ondo town, Miss Oladepo Blessing and Oluwasemilore Mary had earlier been declared missing while the police in the state were investigating the where about of the two students.
