A 37-year-old tailor, Felix Ayuba on Monday has been sentenced to four months imprisonment by a Masaka Upper Area Court for absconding with his client’s wedding fabric.
Ayuba, who is resident in Angwan Jaba Masaka area of Nassarawa, pleaded guilty to two counts charges bordering on breach of trust and cheating.
Police prosecutor, Frank Swem, explained to the court that Albarka Danjuma of New Karu, Nasarawa State, had reported the matter at the Divisional Police Station in Masaka, on Dec. 12.
Swem said that on Oct. 10, Danjuma gave the accused some fabrics to sew a kaftan and a dress for his wife.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused did not make the cloths as agreed, instead, he absconded with the fabrics.

Swem said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
However, having heard from the prosecutor, the Presiding judge, Yakubu Ishaku, gave him an option of N4, 000 fine.
He also ordered him to pay N53,000 as damages for the materials and another N20,000 for expenses incurred during prosecution.
The judge said Ayuba will get an additional one-month imprisonment if he defaulted.
