Radio Biafra which is domiciled in the UK is run by the Leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, who initially operated the station on behalf of MASSOB.

“Were we to receive any such request, we would, of course, consider it carefully on the basis of the available evidence, recognising that freedom of speech and expression carries responsibilities.’’

Meanwhile, the Federal Government of Nigeria had identified France as the financial headquarters of IPOB.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed who disclosed this also faulted the United Kingdom for not doing something to stop Radio Biafra from broadcasting in their country.

“If the radio is taken down from broadcasting or not, we can certify as at this time, but the media according to the Public Officer would have been taken down if request bordering on the owners being separatist is being submitted to them”. The Minister said.
