Another suspected Boko Haram member Mohammed Bachar has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command in Ifira Akoko village, in Akoko South East Local Government Area of the state.
Reports gathered that Police arrested Mr. Bachar during a stop-and-search on Saturday, and he has confessed to being a member of the dreaded terrorists.
The Ondo Police Public Relations officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, who confirmed the arrest said the suspect is a native of Maiduguri and he has confessed that he ran to Ondo State after being chased by the Nigerian Army.
“He was apprehended with charms and some other dangerous weapons in Ifira Akoko during a search conducted by our officers on the road while travelling to escape an arrest from the North.
“Upon his interrogation, he confessed to being a member of the dreaded Boko Haram group and a very close servant to their wanted leader, Abubakar Shekau.
The police spokesman further explained that the suspect told investigating officers that he first ran to Nasarawa State but decided to escape from the town when the Nigerian Army came close and made the town too hot for terrorists.”
Mr. Joseph said that the police would likely parade the suspect today Monday 2, before he is handed over to the Nigerian Army.
Recalled that barely a week ago we reported the arrest of one of the Boko Haram terrorists, Idris Ibrahim Babawo in Isua Akoko.
Babawo was arrested by a local vigilante group before being handed over to the Nigerian Army.
