Trump defends wife for wearing high heels

Following the criticism of many on social media about US first lady, Melania Trump changing into sneakers at Texas and back to high heels at the White House, President Trump spoke in defense of his wife.

While leaving the White House, Melania Trump had high heels on but she arrived at Texas to survey Hurricane Harvey damage with sneakers on.

President Donald Trump said that the First lady changed back into high heels at their arrival at the White House because of the love and respect they had for the White House. He said she had to dress appropriately.

He said she changed her footwear to sneakers while on the plane.

President Trump added: “So, when she leaves the plane, we’re going to Texas where they have the hurricane,” Trump said. “And she leaves the plane, and she’s dressed appropriately for the White House, you know, because we respect the White House a lot. And she’s wearing high heels, like many of you would do, and they went after her.”
