Two siblings in court for kidnapping and extortion

Shocking: Court sentenced "Spirit" to 7 years imprisonment-dailyfamily.ng

Two siblings, Ogunseye Olabode, 34 and his sister, Odunayo, 34 were on Monday brought before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, in Lagos, for allegedly kidnapping a man, Victor Adedeji and demanded a ransom from him.

The prosecutor, Insp. Cousin Adams said  the accused conspired and kidnapped one Mr. Victor Adedeji on June 21 at Ipaja, Lagos suburb.

He alleged that the siblings conspired and kidnapped Adedeji with the intention of extorting money from his relatives to secure his release.

The offences contravened Sections 271 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

They both pleaded not guilty of the allegations

In her ruling, Magistrate Helen Omisore, granted each of the accused bail in the sum N200,000 with two sureties who are gainfully employed each in like sum.

The was later adjourned till  Oct. 18 for further hearing.
