Kylian Mbappe gives Monaco crucial edge against Borussia Dortmund, scored two goals for his club.
Monaco defeated Borussia Dortmund with 3-2 in the first leg of their Champions League Quarter-final in the rescheduled match on Wednesday.
The match was originally slated for Tuesday but was postponed to Wednesday due to explosions which affected Dortmund’s team bus on Tuesday and saw two of its players hospitalised.
Mbappe opened the scoring for his side. Bender headed past his own goalkeeper and scored an own goal, as Monaco went two goals up.
Ousmane Dembeled pulled one back for Thomas Tuchel’s side, but Mbappe restored their two-goal lead, capitalising on a defensive error to blast the ball into the roof of the net.
Shinji Kagawa reduced the deficit in the dying minutes of the game.
