Unilorin commence screening of 64,000 applicants

No fewer than 64,000 UTME applicants have commenced screening for 2017/2018 admission process at the University of Ilorin (Unilorin), Kwara state on Monday 11th September 2017.

The University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening is being carried out by the University so as to choose the best candidates that will be admitted into the University in the next academic session.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs Department of the University, Mr Kunle Akogun, said not less than 104,000 candidates had applied for the screening exercise.

The Deputy Director, Mr Kunle Akogun, mentioned that after the screening exercise, the University would only be able to admit about 11,000 candidates who were successful in the various programmes of the school. He said this was the only capacity the Institution can take.

Mr Akogun also said that the university’s cut-off mark had been pegged at 180 as the minimum score.

He also said that the departments within the school will choose their required cut-off marks.

He added that the reason for many applicants to the University was because of the stable academic calendar they operated. He assured that the virtues and standard of the Institution would continue to be upheld.
