UNIOSUN Students Protest The Death Of Their Colleague

The students of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) were seen on the streets of Osogbo today, 5th July, protesting the death of their colleague, a 400 level Microbiology student. The angry students invaded the NUJ press centre correspondent Chapel office at Fagbewesa where they vent their anger.

The students attacked motorists and journalists over the killing of a 400 Level student of the institution.

The students were sighted putting on a black dress to mourn their deceased 400 level colleague from the Department of Microbiology who was found dead after being declared missing for about 5 days

 

A Muslim cleric, Sakariyau Abdulrofiu, has confessed to killing the 400 level student for ritual purposes Enraged by the incessant disappearance of their colleagues, students of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN), have laid siege to some streets in Osogbo burning brutes and vandalizing properties to vent their anger.

The rampaging students also invaded the NUJ correspondent Chapel office at Fagbewesa where they slapped a female journalist, Seun Adesokan and rough handled others who tried to take their photographs. The angry students marched from their school campus at Oke Baale, to the Palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, in Oja Oba. They also made a stop at the Olaiya roundabout where a bonfire was made.

It will be recalled that Sakariyau Abdulrofiu, a Muslim cleric was arrested on Tuesday, July 4, following the discovery of the body of Oluwafemi Shonibare, a 400 level student of UNIOSUN.

Shonibare was declared missing on June 28 barely nine months after two students from the same institution were declared missing and had not been seen since then.
