Useful Lessons From Women In The Bible (Part 2)

Bisi Oludare

Women are a special being who are created to fulfill a specific purpose on earth. As a woman you are more than whatever you think you are, don’t just exist on earth but let your existence count.

There are many women in the Bible who did exploit both spiritually and secularly, let us learn from them.

1. ANNA – it was recorded about Anna that she never divorced her husband but stayed with him until his death and also a faithful widow. She was a worshipper, fasted and also did not take prayer for granted.

LESSON: are you in a traumatic marriage; hold on there and stop considering divorce. There is nothing that is irredeemable if you allow God. Be a praying woman and let your life be all about the service of God.

2. ESTHER – Esther born Hadassah, was an example of a godly, obedient and chaste woman. Esther was a Jewish queen of the Persian king Ahasuerus. She was the godly queen who saved the entire Jewish race through her bold intercession and fasting. Though a very pretty lady, she still kept herself for her husband and never messed up.

LESSON: Beauty can fade but your good character will keep you going. Serve God as a young lady, be obedient to authorities, and remember virginity is not archaic but it is still well celebrated.
You never can tell maybe you are where you are for such a time as this, so use every opportunity that comes your way wisely.

3. ELIZABETH AND MARY – The relationship between Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, and Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, resulted in great praise and prophesy concerning the destiny of Mary’s Child even right in the womb.

LESSON: As a woman, you need a good companion. You need friends with like minds that will always draw you closer to the fulfillment of your goals. Someone you can trust to always care for you.

4. MIRIAM – She was the daughter of Amram and Jochebed and the sister of Moses and Aaron. She was a Prophetess. Miriam, the Prophetess, stood alongside Moses and Aaron as one of the three main leaders of the Israelite nation as they left Egypt.

LESSON: Nobody is an island, never abandon your family. You will need them at a point or the other in your life’s journey

5. RUTH – The role of Ruth in the Bible can never be overemphasized, she stayed true and faithful to her Mother-in-law Naomi even when nothing was left for her to hold on to. At the end, she got rewarded for her diligence.

LESSON: respect your Mother-in-law and by so doing you will naturally get the love of your husband and you will win your Mother-in-law to your side for life. Be diligent in whatsoever you are doing.

6. PHILIP’S DAUGHTERS – Philip the evangelist had four daughters who prophesied and were virgins.

LESSON: Don’t let people’s belief about females stop you from thinking outside the box and doing things ordinarily no one will dare. Even in the rottenness that has swallowed the world around you, as a single lady, keep yourself pure and chaste. Being a virgin is a pride, don’t sell your dignity on the table of some few minutes of pleasure.

7. Hannah – this is another great figure in the Bible. A barren for many years who was mocked by the second wife because of her state of childlessness. She never doubted God’s ability to answer her. She was consistent, she fasted, prayed and waited for God’s time for her fulfillment and her miracle baby came. At the end, she had more than one child.

LESSON: if you have been trusting God for the fruit of the womb, don’t give up just keep on trusting as your own time is just around the corner. Be consistent and persistent in doing good and you will soon laugh.
