A brother to Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Akinlolu Osinbajo, Lagos Lawyer, Festus Keyamo and 28 others are set to be conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, on September 18, 2017.
This came to be after a statement was issued by the Director of Press and Information, Supreme Court, Dr Festus Akande, on Tuesday, stating that the conferment of SAN on the lawyers was part of the events lined up for the ceremony marking the commencement of the new 2017/2018 legal year.
Human rights activist and social crusader, Festus Keyamo and a former National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olusola Oke, were part of the successful candidates to be conferred with this rank.
A brother to Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Akinlolu Osinbajo; a former Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Prof. Adebambo Adewepo, and the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Prof. Adedeji Adekunle, are also on the list.
According to the Chief Registrar, of the Supreme Court and the Secretary to the LPPC, Mrs Hadiza Mustapha, the full list announced are Chibuike Nwokeukwu, Sylvester Enema, Ikenna Egbuna, Johnnie Egwuonwu, Bert Igwilo, and Wilcox Aberton.
And; Michael Alliyu, Akinlolu Osinbajo and Francis Egele, Olusola Oke, Nasser Dangiri, Oluwatoyin Bashorun, Emeka Okpoko, Sani Garun-Gabbas, Abdul Ibrahim, John Odubela, Gboyega Oyewole and Joshua Musa.
Ibrahim Mohammed, Festus Keyamo, Ekemejero Ohwovorile,Oyetola Oshobi, Sulaiman Usman, Kehinde Ogunwumiju, Chiesonu Okpoko and Kamaldeen Ajibade also make the list.
In the academic category, the successful candidates are Professors Enefiok Essien, Sadiq Shikyl, Adebambo Adewepo, and Adedeji Adekunle.
