We Can Now Sleep With Our Two Eyes Closed In Iwaro-Oka – REGENT
One of the most important things any community ruler can do for his subjects is to provide maximum security of lives and properties for every family in that particular community.

The Regent of Iwaro-Oka, the Asin of Iwaro-Oka land in Akoko south-West of Ondo state, Ambassador Adekemi Omorinbola has shouldered the responsibility of protecting every family residing in the community by commissioning an Area command in the community.
The dignitaries that grace the occasion are The state Ondo commissioner of Police Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, His Royal Majesty Oba Francis Apata, the Olupe of Ipe Akoko, His Royal Majesty Oba Alhaji Adedeji Olusupare of Supare, the members of Federal Road Safety Corps, Members of nigerian Legion and some other important personalities.
Speaking at the occassion, the chairman of Iwaro-Oka Community, Mr. JND Orole who said the people of Iwaro- Oka are very Happy to be one of the beneficiaries of the federal government desire to provide Area Commands in some states.
“We are very happy for the federal government’s desire to improving the security and protection of lives and properties and our community was chosen as one of the beneficiaries because its prevalent security challenges.”
Speaking further, Mr. Orole said that “the community had been witnessing cases of robberies, kidnappings, killings, cultism, rapes etc. which are prevalent in the community than other neighbouring communities.”
He also explained that criminals can easily escape because there are many routes that lead to or from the community “from Iwaro -Oka there are routes to Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti state through Supare , to Abuja through Oke-Oka, to Akure through Oba and to Edo state through Ikun and Idoani.”
The Chairman said the Area Command still needs some touches and appeal to the people of the two local governments of Akoko South-West and South-East to give a very serious and urgent attention to finding immediate solutions to complete the necessary things that remains in the Area Command.
Addressing the people, the Ondo state commissioner of Police Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju said the people must cooperate with the police officers,” The way you want your Area Command to be that is how it Will look. The police command is for the community.”
The CP said the police needs more contributions from the community ” we must be our brother’s keeper, security of lives and properties is now everybody’s concern. The federal government is working hard to make sure crimes are reduced drastically in the country.
Appreciating God for making the event a unique one, His Royal Majesty, Ambassador Adekemi Omobolariola the Asin of Iwaro-Oka land said” I thank Almighty God for making the event a unique and one of its kind in Iwaro-Oka community.
The traditional ruler said the Lord loves them in the community,” last year we commissioned the way to Iwaro-Oka Divisional Police Headquarters and now we have a big testimony by commissioning an Area command in our community.
Regent Adekemi specially appreciate the Inspector General of Police for chosen Iwaro-Oka community among the beneficiaries of Area Commands in the country.
He also appreciates State Commissioner of Police for approving the site to build the area command ” I sincerely appreciate the CP for approving this site for us, the CP came to inspect the site on the 28th of July during our new yam festival”.
The Regent, also thanked sons and daughters of Iwaro-Oka home and in Diaspora for the achievement. He specifically appreciates the efforts of Mr. Okare Fidelis, Mr.Tolorunlogo Jerome and Otunba Dele Ologbese for mobilising the community sons and daughters home and in diaspora to come and bail out the community from the challenges they are facing.
His appreciation also goes to Mr. Day by Day aka assistant Area Commander who had been working day and night to fast track the building of the area command.
The Asin of the land however, used the occasion to appeal to the Motor cycle riders (Okada) to register their motor cycles. He urged the Police to give them a month so that they can look for the money to register their motor cycles. He also appealed to parents to checkmate their children and call them to order to shun any act of criminality and urged the parents to put their wards in schools or to learn vocations so that the community will be free from any form of crimes.
