#WorldCup: Senegal Becomes the First African Team to Win in Russia

The Senegalese team managed by former Birmingham City and Portsmouth midfielder Aliou Cisse went into the game with the hope of becoming he first African team to record a win in Russia.

The first half saw a Senegalese team with so much pace and vigor. The Polish tried to soak in the pressure from the Africans, but in the 37th minute of the game, the pressure got a better part of the Poles as  Sadio Mane assisted a  Idrissa Gueye  whose  shot was deflected by a polish defender for the first goal of the day.

Poland have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last nine World Cup games, since beating Portugal 1-0 in 1986

A defensive error from Poland in the 60th minute gave Senegal a second goal through Mbaye Niang.

The Poles pulled one back in the 88th minute with a header from Grzegorz Krychowiak

The game ended in a 2-1, in favor of the Senegalese side. They have now become the first African team to secure a win since the World cup in Russia began in June 14th.
