The place of a father in the home cannot be overemphasized. Being present at home to check on your child’s welfare goes a long way to tell your child how much he or she is loved.
Absentee fathers hardly bond well even with the family not to talk to the wife. And the beautiful thing in this present age is that children learn a whole lot from what they see their parent do. A father who is readily available for his family and most children will always be esteemed by the former and likewise the latter. It is so interesting to also note that, children from such families tend to take after their father as well.
Here is an article culled from Kemi Fameso’s Facebook timeline. It is such an interesting one we stumbled on and we feel it is worth sharing with our readers.
Kemi Writes;
“This really happened.
I was at the clinic a few days back for a doctor’s appointment that was to confirm to me if I am really female.
Lol…#justkidding.
Anyway, I truly was at the clinic and was sitting directly opposite an elderly man (he should be in his late 50’s I guess) and a young girl I presume is his daughter. I watched this duo helplessly as they brought constant smiles on my not-so-smiley face.
Here’s why.
He had brought his daughter to the clinic to complete an assignment she was given in school. What excited me about the short drama that happened to me was, this man forgoing his work on a Monday morning to attend to his daughter and the attentiveness he gave to the young lady was totally exceptional, I am not sure I can do justice to describing it here.
The truth is, this father made me jealous. He made me want to be a girl again! He made me realize the huge expectations my daughter would have of me! He made me see how I must not fail her!
I was so caught up in this short drama and I was gradually becoming a cast. I totally did not realize it was my turn to see the physician not until the attendant screamed”.
Maybe some fathers will learn a bit from this. We are not compulsorily requesting that you go with your daughter or son to the clinic on a Monday morning, but always invest time in your children and family so as to get a good yield in the nearest future. On the long run, you will see that it pays.
