Five families are grieving after a crash on the Ijebu–Epe Road. The dead have been identified as Isiyaku Sa’idu, Maigana Mohammed (Abbati), Anas Abubakar, who was the driver, Zaiyanu Bajoga and Abubakar Ibrahim.

They were reportedly travelling in a bus carrying students who had come from Gombe to Lagos in search of Industrial Training (IT) opportunities. The bus was said to have been hit by a GUO Logistics truck that veered from its lane and collided with it as it travelled in the opposite direction. Five people reportedly died at the scene.
Some of the injured victims are still receiving treatment. A statement on the incident claims that, as of the time it was released, there was no confirmation that GUO Logistics had contacted the families of the deceased or adequately addressed the medical needs of those hurt.
The statement also raises concerns about the alleged conduct of company representatives after the crash.
It claims some were more focused on protecting the company’s image than on assisting the victims, with one staff member reportedly attempting to remove the company’s name from the truck.
‘This is unacceptable! Human lives must matter more than corporate reputation,’ the statement declared.
It called for a thorough investigation, stressing that the families of the deceased deserve justice and that the injured should receive proper medical attention.
‘GUO Logistics must answer serious questions about this incident,' it stated. It added that the circumstances surrounding the deaths must be fully investigated and responsibility established.
The statement maintained that although the lives lost cannot be restored, accountability must follow.
It insisted that ‘No company should be allowed to place its reputation above the lives and dignity of innocent Nigerians.’
