* A female student met a man who posed as a romantic interest after she gave him a lift on her motorcycle.
* The suspect allegedly took her motorcycle keys, accessed her room using a hidden key,
and stole her motorcycle, gas cylinder, perfume, cash, and other valuables.
What started innocently enough on a weekend journey along Ugbema Junction in Benue State with a young student, riding her motorcycle toward Katsina-Ala, encountered Mr. Aondoaseer Hyacinth Iortyom, who requested a lift as he headed to Turan-Kwande.

When he became stranded in Jato-Aka, she helped arrange free accommodation and the next day dropped him off at Ugbema Junction before he continued to Gboko.
What seemed like a chance meeting blossomed into visits to her school, where he appeared attentive and caring.
The relationship deepened quickly as he visited her at the College of Education Katsina-Ala, sharing moments that made her feel valued.
On the fateful day, he accompanied her to campus while she signed documents.
As she waited, he asked for her motorcycle keys to purchase food for her, a simple romantic gesture that masked darker intentions.
Instead of returning, he went to her residence, retrieved the room key from its hiding spot, entered, and removed her motorcycle along with a gas cylinder, perfume, cash, and personal belongings.
Since then, he has vanished, ignoring her calls and declining those from others trying to reach him.
Human rights activist Elder Sughnen Yaaya confirmed the breakthrough on Thursday, February 12, 2026, stating that the Benue State Police Command successfully recovered the motorcycle and officially returned it to the student.
