Veteran actor Michael J. Fox delivered a touching moment at the 32nd Actor Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, reflecting on the personal legacy of his celebrated career.

During the event’s traditional “I Am An Actor” segment, the 64-year-old spoke pointedly about how his early role on the sitcom Family Ties changed his life. It was on that show that he met his future wife, Tracy Pollan, who played his on-screen girlfriend.
According to People, Fox described meeting Pollan as 'the greatest gift' of his professional life, adding that she had given him 'four gifts', their children, Schuyler, Aquinnah, Esmé and Sam.
Seated beside his son Sam at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, Fox jested that Sam was 'just my date' for the evening, drawing warm laughter from the audience. He concluded his remarks by introducing himself simply as 'a dad, and an actor.'
Fox was honoured for his recent work, including a guest appearance in the third season of Shrinking on Apple TV, even as he continues to live with Parkinson’s disease, a condition he was diagnosed with in 1991.
