Woman Set To Remarry Says Ex-Husband Married Side Chick Days After She Left ‘Toxic’ Marriage

A Nigerian woman, Faith Onyinyechi, has shared how her marriage ended and what followed, in a post on Facebook.

Faith's traditional wedding is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

She said her previous marriage broke down in 2022 after it became too toxic to continue.

‘He who laugh last laugh best. In 2022, me and my ex husband had issues, the marriage was so toxic that instead anyone of us to injure or k!ll ourselves I decided to leave the marriage for safety and went to my father's house cox I don't have any other place to go to,’ she wrote.

According to Faith, her ex-husband, who had once said he could not live without her or bear to see her sad, began sleeping at his side chick's house and beating her repeatedly before the marriage ended.

‘Not up to 7 days in my father house my ex got married to another woman. Then I realized that him and this woman has been dating even while I was with him. Man that can't stay without me started sleeping at his side chic house, a man that cannot stand seeing me being sad started beating me non stop,’ she said.

She said her ex-husband married the woman within days of her moving out, and that she later concluded the two had been dating while she was still married to him.

Faith said he mocked her afterwards, sending her photos from his new marriage.

‘He began to laugh at me, sending me series of him and his side chic traditional marriage photos saying that he has moved on, that let him see who will come and marry me,’ she said.

She said she was left to raise their daughter alone after leaving the marriage, as he did not take up any responsibilities for the child.

‘Life was so so tough for me coz I left the marriage with our baby girl he left all the responsibilities for me,’ she said.

Faith said her circumstances have since changed as she prepares for her wedding, while things have grown difficult for her ex-husband and his wife, who she said have relocated to the village.

‘Today God did it for me. Saturday is my traditional marriage. And today life is not going well with him at all, things are so so tough for him and his new wife. As a matter of fact he is now base in the village. HE WHO LAUGH LAST LAUGH BEST,’ she wrote.
