According to Mother of Lemuel’s advice in Prov. 31:1-31, you need to check the following in a lady before marrying her.

- FEAR OF GOD: The fear of God is the first important matter to consider in the life of any lady you want to marry, beauty can be so deceitful as it may be used as a good cover for wicked, a beautiful lady without the fear of God is truly Ugly and will make your life miserable.
- GOOD CHARACTER: Another thing to check in the life of any lady you want to marry is her character, marriage is a journey that can last as much as sixty years, you can’t afford to Journey with somebody that will make you miserable. When a lady has fundamental character flaws run away from her. A lady that is a pathological liar, she is unfaithful, she has uncontrollable anger, volatile, clamorous, Unforgiven, full of bitterness, dress to expose her nakedness etc should never be somebody you should consider for a long journey of Marriage.
- DILIGENCE: A lady that is lazy will be too dangerous for your life and destiny. She hates work, she is not diligent, but she is a lover of sleep and rest, please avoid her like a plague
- SERVICE UNTO GOD AND MAN: When a lady cannot serve God or bless people around her, don’t ever think she will be a blessing to your life and destiny.
- SUBMISSION: Can she submit to you? Is she submitting to God? Is she submissive to her parent, pastor, mentor or leaders in her life? If she is not she may never submit to you, so her price is very low don’t marry her, remember pride goes before destruction, one of the things God hates is pride.
- MONEY MANAGEMENT: Anytime she sees money the only thing she thinks about our bags, shoes, Brazilian hair, perfume, cloth, and more clothes, all these are material things that one must not allowed to dominate one’s life if you want to go far. She seems to know how to spend more money than to make it and she is not hiding that, FLEE, if you marry her, you will end up with a help-eat instead of help-meet.
- TRUSTWORTHINESS: She is not trustworthy and faithful, you cannot trust her, she is even keeping another person as an extra tyre. That is, she is having two relationships at the same time, you have to compete with other guys in her life, and she is supposed to be a Christian lady, so what are you doing with her? Oh! You may say but I love her, is that the truth? But the truth is that you can’t really love somebody you don’t trust, STOP! It is dangerous.

- FRIENDSHIP: Is she friendly? Does she have good friends? Is her fine linen going to merchant or riff-raff? Who are the people around her? Good people or worthless women she calls friends. She can never live beyond people she surrounds herself with. If the lady you want to marry has only bad friends, that is who she is, she is bad, don’t fool yourself.
- PEACEFULNESS: You need to check whether that lady is a peaceful person, if she is not peaceful she will not do you good all the days of her life. Does she fight others in your presence? Does she keep malice with you and others in her life? Does she fight dirty? Is she full of anger? Leopard can’t change its skin, that is what you are going to live within Marriage.
- ATTRACTIVENESS: Do you really love her as a person, if you are struggling to accept her totally the ways she is but you are making effort to change her, it will be dangerous to enter marriage with that mind in you, it may be difficult for you to accept and love her in future
