Although Igbo men have been berated on so many grounds, like frugality (stinginess’, Aka Gum with money), late/delayed marriage, their heavy accent when speaking (the type you will hear in that Peak Milk TV Commercial by a famous footballer, ‘’’And I was determineee to nova give up’’). Regardless of all the aforementioned, it has been proven that marrying an Igbo man is one of the greatest choices a woman can make in her lifetime.

1. They know how to spoil a woman with love, gifts and goodies
An average Igbo man knows how to spend on a woman, he might be stingy to his fellow colleagues and business partners o, but you that wife of his, hmmm he will go the extra mile in making life comfortable for you. Igbo men are one of the most romantic men in Nigeria; they have special pet names for their wives and lavish them with gifts. Igbo guys are industrious, and are usually wealthy, so there is a lot of money to spend. They do not hold back from their families. They know how to spend money! A popular saying in Igbo has it that, ‘’ It is one thing to have the morale to make money, it is another different thing to have the morale to spend it’’. An average Igbo man knows how to spend on a lady, because at the end of the day fine words do not produce food!!
2. They have PhD’s in Gymnastics and Bedmatics
My sister, it is proven that Igbo men are very good in satisfying their spouse sexually. They eat well and pay special attention to their sexual health. And you know how important sex is to any marriage. So, to avoid regrets you need to find and hold on to that your Igbo partner to avoid been left out. They are undoubtedly the best in-laws you can find around the country, they respect the family of the wife, and just like they treat their wife they extend this love to their parents. It is an open secret that you don’t just marry a woman in Igbo land, you marry the family too. And the Igbo men go around with this mentality. They respect their in-laws and support them. If you have an Igbo man as an in-law, you will hardly have complaints. They maintain cordial relationships with their in-laws. A very popular Igbo saying ‘’Ogor bu chi Onye’’ (An Inlaw is a person’s God) depicts and explains this attitude.
4. Igbo men hardly marry two wives
When it comes to this, my dear, an Igbo man is hardly polygamous in nature, they stick to one woman no matter what comes into play. The only problem here is if the wife is a cheating one, although we have seen cases of men who actually forgave their cheating wives just to avoid taking a second one. They believe polygamy is all about the sex, whereas monogamy is about love. And when it comes to matters of the heart, they are faithful.
