Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State on Thursday has taken a mammoth crowd by surprise after he gave out the sum of 1 million naira to a disabled mother of one.
Governor Uguanyi during the flag off ceremony of the Local Government Election Campaign of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state overwhelmed the audience with tears of joy when a physically challenged woman struggled to have a glimpse of him while speaking on the podium.
At the campaign flag off, Governor Ugwuanyi asked the mother of one, Grace Okoye, from Abia State resident in Enugu, what she wanted him to do for her.

In response to the governor’s call, she first appreciated Governor Ugwuanyi for taking notice of her amidst the mammoth crowd at the event. She further narrated with tears dripping from her eyes her struggles and how she had toiled, selling sachet water to take care of her baby girl.

Responding to the request of the governor eventually, the mother of one pleaded with him to assist her to start a new life.
Like an angel sent to her in a time of trouble, Governor Ugwuanyi announced a personal donation of N1million and also promised to open a business for her.
“This is not politics. If you are educated we will give you employment but if you are not, an appropriate business will be opened for you”.
