Actress Judy Austin has taken legal action against her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, over statements she says have defamed her character.

Judy, who was previously married to Obasi before their marriage ended, and later married actor Yul Edochie, filed a Writ of Summons before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Judicial Division.
She shared the court papers on social media on Tuesday morning, captioning the post ‘Enough is Enough.’
In the suit, Judy is asking the court to order Obasi to pay her N1 billion in general damages for defamation.
She also wants the court to compel him to publish a full and unreserved retraction and apology in at least two widely circulated national newspapers, as well as across his social media platforms.
Beyond the retraction, Judy is seeking a restraining order to stop Obasi and his agents from publishing further defamatory content about her, and an order compelling him to take down all such posts he has already made.
According to the court filing, she is also demanding N500 million as aggravated damages over past defamatory posts, N500 million in exemplary damages, N100 million to cover the cost of prosecuting the suit, and an additional N100 million as the cost of the action.
