Judy Austin Sues Co-Wife Rita Edochie

Nollywood actress Judy Austin has dragged her colleague and co-wife, Rita Edochie, to court over statements she alleges were defamatory.

The suit was filed via a Writ of Summons before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Judicial Division, with Judy accusing Rita of defamation and asking the court to compel her to pay N1 billion in general damages.

According to the writ, Rita has 30 days from the date she is served to enter an appearance in the suit, either personally or through a legal practitioner.

Among her demands, Judy is asking the court to order Rita to publish a full and unreserved retraction and apology in at least two widely circulated national newspapers, as well as across her social media platforms.

She also wants Rita compelled to remove all alleged defamatory statements about her from every online platform where they were published, and to refrain from further publishing or circulating any statements deemed defamatory of her going forward.

In addition, Judy is seeking N50 million to cover the cost of prosecuting the suit.
