The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Muhamadu Buhari, is expected to leave the country today for an official visit to the United Kingdom, a statement credited to the Presidency has revealed.

Buhari is expected to meet with the British Prime minister, Theresa May, and other prominent people in the United Kingdom.

According to the presidency, the president will be attending the Common Wealth Head of Government Meetings between Wednesday, April 18th and Friday, April 20th.

The president is also expected to meet with an old time good friend, the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Rev. and RT Hon Justin Welby to discuss issues bothering on inter-religious harmony in Nigeria and the world.

The president is also expected to meet with the CEO of Royal Dutch Plc, Mr Ben Van Beurden in connection with the proposed $15billion shell investment in the Nigeria oil industry. Although rumours have it that the president is going on an official rest leave after which he will attend the Common Wealth Meeting which is still a week from today.

But with a statement emanating from the presidency in the early hours of today, the presidential spokesman Garba Shehu has remained silent on the leave and quashed any insinuation of a medical checkup for the presidency.
