Saudi Arabia has begun its first move of social reforms for the year 2018 as the women will be allowed to watch a football match in the stadium today, January 12, 2018.

For the first time, Saudi women will be allowed to enter a sports stadium to watch a football match between two local teams. This is in line with Saudi Arabia’s social reform plan to give women greater rights.
The first stadium which is located in the Red Sea city of Jiddah will grant access to women but will be separated from the male-only crowd with seats designated in a section called “family section”
As part of the movement for change, the stands for women has been designated as “family sections” while the stadium’s female restrooms and separate entrances and parking lots for female spectators have been created.
The national stadium in the capital, Riyadh, will open its gates for women to attend a football game on Saturday, January 13, 2018.
