The federal government has asked the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen to “step aside” from office.
Counsel to the federal government in ongoing trial against the CJN, Aliu Umar, made the submission during the sitting of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Tuesday.
He said the CJN should “step aside pending the determination of the case”.
Umar further added that he is not seeking the removal of the CJN “we are not seeking for the removal” of the CJN.
