#Russia2018: German Coach Shocks Players bans Alcohol, Sex during World Cup
Germany will be hoping to become the first country to retain the world cup title since the Brazil side did a back to back in 1958 and 1962.
The German Head Coach is trying to instill discipline on the players ahead of the football fiesta.
According to Jochaim Leow “The boys are very familiar with our behavioral rules,” he explained.
“They know what our ambitions are.
“Every player is a piece of a puzzle, the team is more important than individuals.”
In line with this development, the players would be strictly monitored once the world cup commence, with just short periods where they can spend time with their families.
Alcohol consumption isn’t completely prohibited according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, with a glass of wine before bed not forbidden, however, there can be no drinking in excess.
Social networking is seen as unnecessary during the tournament and photos within the team hotel and dressing room are completely forbidden.
There is a fear that confidential tactical information may inadvertently leak out, there is also the small matter of trying to avoid unnecessary negative headlines, like the the Mesut Ozil and Ilkay Gundogan’s photos with Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which generated so many unnecessary distractions.
