ONE BOOK EVERY PARENT MUST READ URGENTLY

I cannot say I am a good reader of books, unlike my elder brother who is a bookworm. It is one of the reasons my Dad used to fight me in those days.

But three things happened simultaneously that suddenly turned me to a voracious reader. I got back home last Monday to see a large crowd in front of my neighbor’s house, as a good neighbor I moved closer to inquire what happened, only to be told the most terrible story I ever heard.

The 53-year-old Landlord of the house who we fondly call Baba White(because he usually wears White dresses) despite having three wives, raped a five-year-old daughter of one of his tenants. unbelievable, police were called and he was arrested, but I could not sleep that night, would you blame me? because I have two daughters aged 4 and 6 who were always in the house of this landlord. He seemed to love Children and they flock around him. Nobody knew this was what he was doing to these innocent angels. Has he raped my Daughters? has he molested them? I can not think right, I was really afraid.

To Compound my Problem, I got to the office the second day only to read a story that went viral last weekend of a 74-year-old old grandpa who raped a 5-month-old baby. It was in all the newspapers, online and offline (If you are yet to read it you must be based in Togo) I can’t just imagine this, I can’t fathom it, I was depressed, so afraid for my daughters.

Later in the evening, I was driving home when I accidentally tuned in to a Women program on Radio, guess what they were talking about; Child Sexual Abuse, this really caught my attention. Their guest did a great Job as she told me what to do about my daughters’ security, strangely enough, it was in that program I heard the word ‘’Pedophile ‘’ for the first time, I learned that a Pedophile is anyone that sleeps with Children.

Towards the end of the program, the Guest suggested a Book to all Parents, she said every Parent should get the book as soon as possible, the title of the book she mentioned is “Protecting Your Children from Sexual Abuse” by Bisi Adewale. I quickly wrote down the title and the author’s name but she didn’t mention where to get it. I checked online and finally got it on konga, by noon the following day it was delivered to me in the office.

THE BOOK CAUSED ME SORROW

I thought the book will make me happy, but it made me sorrowful, I wept. In the first chapter of the book, the author shared 51 heart-rending stories of child sexual abuses, you can’t read them without crying, very pathetic, and very sorrowful, From chapter two, I was able to get solutions to my problem as I now know how to identify a Predator, how to know if my girls were been molested, how to educate my children about sex according to their ages.

Without been a marketer, I decided to write this piece for all Parents, maybe I will be able to save a Child from the grip of these monsters and stop this menace once and for all. Please search online for this book, buy it, but don’t just buy it, read it as well. The destiny of your Children is involved please, you don’t need to buy if you will not read it. Please read it to save your Children.
