Unknown Factors That Make Marriage To Fail Without Notice

One of the factors that can easily destroy any marriage is spiritual factors. We must not be ignorant of this. In fact, we must search them out, fight these factors to a standstill and liberate our marriages. Let’s check all these spiritual factors that can make a marriage fail.
- The absence of the presence of God. When Christ is missing in a home, crisis is imminent. It is easier for the Devil to destroy a home if Jesus is not the Master of that home. All it takes darkness to reign is the absence of light. When couples are not born again, they’ve mortgaged their homes to the Devil and are doomed to experience a failed marriage.
- Disobedience to God’s commandments. When God cannot reign in a home, He will not be there. As soon as a family begins to disobey God, denying Him of His rights in that home, disobeying biblical injunctions in their day to day lives, then, they’ve registered their homes for an eventual collapse.
- Dead spiritual life. When your spiritual life is vibrant, it will reflect on your actions and reactions to issues at home. It will also show in your relationship with your spouse. As soon as your relationship with God begins to shake, the ripple effect is seen in all your relationships, especially in dealings with your spouse. The rate at which you become angry, unforgiving, allow fights, keep malice, bitter, etc are all indications that something is wrong with your spiritual life.
- The absence of the word of God. When your marriage is word-deficient, the vacuum will be visible. “Wherewithal shall a young man (woman) cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word”. Psalm 119:9. A word-based marriage is the only joyful marriage around. By allowing the word of God to fill your heart, every darkness in your life is illuminated. However, when the word is constantly ignored, things can only remain difficult in the home.
- Religious bigotry. A religious bigot is a person who constantly and stubbornly holds a particular religious point of view without consideration for the views of other people. This attitude is also displayed amongst couples when a wife insists that the only time she can have sex with her husband is when they are ready to make babies. One woman said it is wrong and sinful for her husband to see her nude. Religious bigotry is a product of imbalance teaching or a mixture of African traditions with Old Testament teachings. An infiltration of these teachings into a New Testament lifestyle will adversely affect both partners in marriage.
- Covenant and oath. Pre-marital or evil covenants in relationships when left unsevered after marriage will take its toll on the existing union. The probable outcome is exemplified in a case where a woman said she keeps making love to her ex-boyfriend in her dreams, thereby affecting her love for her husband to the point of hatred. The blood covenant she cut with her former lover created the doorway through which he visits her almost every night in her dreams.
- Curse. For whatever reason, some people are victims of curses, known or unknown. To curse somebody simply means to sentence the person to failure. In other words, when somebody’s marriage is cursed, the person has received an “empowerment” for a failed marriage. Associational, blood, environmental, generational curses or even parents’ inflicted curses are all powerless before God once you are willing to cooperate with Him.
- Demonic attack. The Devil detests anything set up by God, and the marriage institution as ordained from the beginning is not spared. By delegating an arm of his host to frustrate married people, destabilizing families, encouraging same sexed relationships, etc. Satan is determined that no marriage can succeed under the sun. Constant strife, bitterness, hatred, greed, love of money, immorality in the home are some of the enemy’s tactics of breaking the God-ordained union.
9.Lack of spiritual warfare. The Devil and his demons become powerless when you know your position in Christ Jesus and exercise your right over them. Unfortunately, many Christians are ignorant as they handle the battle against the Devil with levity. A lady is known to fall sick anytime her husband is present but will be healed instantly without the use of drugs once he leaves. It deteriorated to a point where they had to separate for many years. This lady was sound in health for the whole period, but as soon as they reunited, she fell terribly sick that same day and nearly died. Ignorance of the spiritual warfare they were experiencing kept them separate until eventually, they got a divorce. They could have won that demonic battle if they waged spiritual war against it.
